Imran Khan In Jail: Ex-Pakistan PM’s Last X Post Sparks Fresh Speculations, PTI Senator Raises Concerns About His Condition | World News

As rumors about the health and condition of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been in jail since 2023, are increasing, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khurram Zeeshan, has expressed concern about the condition of the jailed leader.

The Pakistani leader also stated that the PTI founder was kept in complete isolation for nearly a month, with no contact with his family, lawyers or senior party leaders. In an interview with ANI, Senator Zeeshan called the situation a “blatant violation of human rights” and alleged that officials tried to pressure Khan to accept the terms.

He linked the growing concern over Khan’s health to what he described as unprecedented restrictions in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, adding that speculation about Khan’s health was directly linked to the conditions in which he was kept.

“It is an extremely unfortunate situation. He is about to complete a month in isolation. His family, lawyers and PTI leaders are not allowed to meet him. This is a complete violation of his human rights. They are trying to force him to accept their terms.” He argued that the restrictions were deliberate and designed to limit Khan’s access to the outside world.

Senator Zeeshan emphasized that although officials claimed Khan was “well and in Adiala”, the lack of independently verified updates had intensified public concern and raised questions about the lack of recent images, statements or videos of the former prime minister. He said the information blackout appeared to be deliberate and was implemented in all environments where Khan was present.

“Since the day he was imprisoned, not a single photograph, recorded voice recording or video has been allowed to be published. Even during hearings, people are prohibited from carrying cameras. There are strict restrictions everywhere,” he said.

The PTI senator said the visibility restrictions were part of a broader effort to manage public outcry and said, “Khan Sahab is so popular in Pakistan that even a single photo of him can change the entire scenario. The imposed regime in Pakistan feels threatened,” while accusing the government of hiding any credible glimpse of the former prime minister.

The concerns echo alarms voiced by Khan’s family. Earlier this week, Imran Khan’s son Qasim Khan said his father was being held “on a death row with zero transparency” despite officials denying ill-treatment.

Qasim also stated that Khan’s sisters had been repeatedly denied permission to meet him despite court orders allowing the visits, and warned that the government led by Shehbaz Sharif and its “administrators” would be held “legally, morally and internationally” responsible.

As the uncertainty continued, attention turned to Khan’s last post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), following his meeting with his sister in Adiala Prison on November 5.

PTI leaders and supporters say the task has taken on new importance as they search for any indication of his current situation and who he believes is responsible for the situation he faces.

Death Date of Former Leaders of Pakistan

According to ANI, the Pakistani establishment has been accused of eliminating top leaders who oppose them or are seen as a threat to their power. Some notable examples include former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated in 2007 in a bomb attack claimed by Al Qaeda and the Taliban, although many believe this organization was involved.

Additionally, Benazir’s brother, Murtaza Bhutto, was killed in a shootout with police in 1996, leading to speculation that the organization was involved.

Punjab Governor Salman Taseer was assassinated in 2011 by his own bodyguard, who had links to the organisation.

Minority Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was killed in 2011 by Taliban militants allegedly affiliated with the organisation.

Ali Wazir, leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), faced brutal repression and was arrested in 2019, sparking widespread protests.

Why is Imran Khan in Jail?

Imran Khan has been detained since August 2023 and is facing several legal cases that he says are politically motivated. Khan and his wife were sentenced to 14 years and 7 years in prison respectively in a corruption case in January.

Earlier in March, PTI leaders had also alleged that he was being kept in solitary confinement on a death row.
