Holika Dahan kyon manaya jaata hai?
-Holi has deep religious and cultural significance in Hinduism and begins with Holika Dahan. On this day, people in India light bonfires (fires) and perform rituals and prayers around the sacred fire.
-During the puja, the story of Holika and Prahlad, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, is told.
-Phlad’s father and a powerful demon king, Hiranyakashyapu, received a boon from Lord Brahma that made it almost impossible to kill him – neither by man, nor animal, nor demon, neither on earth nor in the sky.- Believing himself to be a God, Hiranyakashyapu demanded worship, but his son Prahlad remained a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. Enraged by Prahlad’s devotion, Hiranyakashyapu made several attempts to kill him, but Lord Vishnu protected Prahlad each time.

-Hiranyakashyapu then sought help from his sister Holika, who prayed that he would not be harmed by the fire. Holika sat in a blazing fire with Prahlad on her lap, intending to kill him, during Holika Dahan.
-But Lord Vishnu saved Prahlad and Holika burned in flames instead. Prahlad’s unwavering faith pleased Lord Vishnu and he became known as Bhakt Prahlad, symbolizing devotion and righteousness.
