Livid Nigel Farage erupts at Keir Starmer over Iran- ‘Frankly pathetic’ | Politics | News

Nigel Farage has described Sir Keir Starmer’s response to the Iran conflict as “frankly pathetic”. The Reform UK leader has hit out at the Prime Minister for his initial refusal to allow British military bases to be used to target Tehran.
He said at a press conference: “I believe that the American president and the Israelis were right in what they did. I find the actions of our Prime Minister – or perhaps the inaction of our Prime Minister – frankly pathetic.” Mr Farage said it was “something to which the president has already responded by saying he is deeply disappointed”.
He added: “I believe Starmer’s actions not only threatened the special relationship, but also probably posed, or were posing, a major threat to NATO.”
US President Donald Trump He said he was “very disappointed” that Sir Keir had previously prevented the UK-US Diego Garcia base from being used to target Iran.
The Prime Minister announced late Sunday that US forces would be allowed to operate against Iran from British bases, but only in a limited role targeting missile sites.

Mr Trump highlighted problems with Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands, which is at the center of a diplomatic dispute between the UK, US and Mauritius.
He told The Telegraph: “This has probably never happened before between our countries. “He was apparently concerned about legality.
Referring to Sir Keir’s change of position, he added: “Helpful. It took a lot of time. A lot of time.”
The Prime Minister’s announcement came just hours before a drone crashed into RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus.
