Longtime retailer closing all stores, customers must use gift cards by next week

clothing retailer Eddie Bauer continues to shut down its physical operations following news earlier this year that it would close all of its U.S. and Canadian stores.

Accordingly Bloombergthe retailer set a deadline for customers to use any remaining credit in the store. Customers have until March 12 to redeem any outstanding gift cards or Adventure Points. All sales are final and purchased products cannot be exchanged or refunded.

It’s unclear when the remaining locations will close their doors for good.

According to him websiteThere are currently seven Eddie Bauer locations still open in New York

  • Cheektowaga: Walden Galleria

  • Colony: Northway Mall

  • Lake George: Adirondack Outlet Mall

  • River Head: Tanger Outlets River Head

  • Syracuse: Destiny USA

  • Winner: Eastview Mall

  • Waterloo: Waterloo Premium Outlets

The following four New York locations have already closed:

  • Deer Park: Tanger Outlets

  • Johnson City: Oakdale Mall

  • Niagara Falls: Fashion Stores

  • Saratoga Springs: Broadway

Sources told WWD on January 29 that Eddie Bauer is “filing Chapter 11 to close approximately 200 North American stores” and is ending its brick-and-mortar business in the United States.

The move is part of bankruptcy protection proceedings initiated by the operator of Eddie Bauer’s U.S. and Canadian retail divisions.

The lawsuits do not affect Eddie Bauer’s online or wholesale operations, which are owned by a separate company called Outdoor 5. Additionally, locations outside the US and Canada are operated by different licensees and will remain open.
