Aryna Sabalenka announces engagement to Oakberry CEO Georgios Frangulis after months of proposal hints

Aryna Sabalenka has been hinting for months that she should propose to her boyfriend, and now the tennis world number one has finally gotten her wish.
The Belarusian star announced her engagement to Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis on Instagram and shared images of the moment she got down on one knee.
Sabalenka first posted a video showing her kneeling in front of Mr. Frangulis, standing next to him in a white T-shirt and jeans, with her hair up in a messy way.
The 27-year-old appeared stunned by the surprise proposal and covered her face with her hands as Mr Frangulis opened a ring box to reveal a dazzling oval-cut diamond.
The couple then embraced before kissing.
Sabalenka confirmed the news overnight with a second post that included photos and videos of the proposal along with the caption, “Finally I get to call her something else… ENGAGED.”
Mr. Frangulis also shared that moment on his social media account.
The big moment took place outdoors by the swimming pool, surrounded by hundreds of floral displays and candles; This shows that Oakberry CEO carefully planned the romantic scene.
The two have been dating since early 2024, after Sabalenka met Frangulis as a brand ambassador for global health food company Oakberry.
Hints had been building for months that the tennis champion was ready to take the relationship to the next level.
After a couple got engaged in the stands at a US Open match in August 2025, Sabalenka joked at a press conference that she was “looking at my boyfriend” for his reaction, adding: “No pressure.”
The ridicule continued after she beat Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk to win the Brisbane International earlier this year.
During her victory speech, Sabalenka addressed Mr. Frangulis from the crowd.
“Thank you boyfriend… hopefully I can call you something else soon,” she joked when cameras showed her laughing nervously in the stands.
Sabalenka was previously in a relationship with former Belarusian professional ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, who is 17 years her senior.
The two had separated in early 2024, but the split was not publicly disclosed until Koltsov’s death by suicide in March of the same year.
Mr. Frangulis was later seen cheering Sabalenka on from the stands at various tournaments, including the Madrid Open, Cincinnati Masters and the US Open.
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in July 2024, when Mr. Frangulis posted photos of the pair together, including one of them kissing.
That same month, Sabalenka referred to him as the love of her life in a comment on one of his posts.
The engagement quickly received a wave of support from friends, family and other tennis stars; Congratulations in the comments were led by Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton, and Coco Gauff.
Actors Lily Collins and Eiza González also shared their excitement for the happy couple.
