Authorities are trying to identify the two young girls, but as of Wednesday, March 4, they have not been able to do so.

Police said the girls’ bodies were found in a neighborhood on Monday, March 2, after a tip from a dog walker.
Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd said Tuesday it was unclear how the girls died, but the bodies had been there for some time.
The police chief said the incident does not match any active missing persons cases in the area.
“We hope to find answers,” he said. “This is a terrible, tragic situation.”

A medical examiner’s office used preliminary DNA relationship testing to confirm that the two girls were half-sisters.
