Nigel Farage loses it at Keir Starmer after urgent Iran update – ‘coward!’ | Politics | News

Nigel Farage accused Sir Keir Starmer of being a “coward” as he held a press conference on the Iran crisis. The Reform UK leader accused the Prime Minister of “caving in to the growing influence of sectarian interest in British politics and his own party’s leftward drift”.
Speaking on the UK News programme, Mr Farage said: “Let’s face it guys, we’ve known for the last few weeks that there was going to be a major attack on Iran. It was marked really, really clearly.”
“When American ambassador Steve Witkoff said they might be just a week away from a nuclear weapon, it didn’t take long to figure out what was going to happen.
“But we’re going straight ahead. We’re hopeless. We’re useless. We’ve upset the Americans. We’ve upset the Cypriots, we’ve upset the UAE, we’ve upset Bahrain, we’ve upset who knows how many countries, and all the Prime Minister can do is say, ‘Let’s make a deal with this murderous regime in Iran.’
“You know what I think? I think the man is a coward and I think he’s pandering to the growing influence of sectarian interest in British politics and the leftward turn of his own party.”
“This is my opinion. I make no apologies for it. I mean it.”
It came after the Prime Minister was forced to deny at a Downing Street press conference that the Government’s response to the Iran conflict had been marked by “indecision, evasiveness and lack of preparation”.
Sir Keir also insisted the special relationship was “currently in place” despite not speaking to him. Donald Trump Since a public controversy erupted over the US refusal to authorize initial strikes against Iran from British bases.
The US President has repeatedly berated Sir Keir, including branding him “no Winston Churchill”.
