Country star Brantley Gilbert has made a life for himself on his South Georgia farm and is doing everything he can to avoid abandoning it.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, Gilbert, who recently became an investor and equity partner in Real American Beer, created a non-alcoholic beer called LORD ZERO – explained that living remotely on a farm allows him to disconnect from the online world. She also explained that checking social media takes “a lot” away from her children.

The country star explained that the three of them were homeschooled and learned “not what kids need to know, but what some people in this world think they want them to know.”

“I’m kind of, in a way, when I get off the road, these shows and being out here on the road is now my ‘wild and crazy,'” Gilbert began, noting that he’s been sober for 14 years.

“When I get home, I don’t really leave the farm. I don’t leave, and that’s probably not a good thing to say in terms of what I do for a living, but man, I don’t live on social media. In fact, I barely look at it,” he continued. “Just as a husband and father of three, you know, between the music business and this, I don’t have enough time and effort to put into something that could take so much away from them.”

Now that his tour is over, Brantley said he only leaves his farm to go to church or ball games.

“And other than that, I don’t leave the farm much, man,” he said.

According to the country music star, an average day at the Gilbert farm might have its own TV show.

Gilbert explained that both his father and brother work on their farm, while his wife, Amber, runs a hybrid homeschool group. The couple’s children, Barrett and Braylen, are enrolled in school and attend school only three days a week.

Amber shared some information about the academy on Instagram In 2023, she announced that she never considered homeschooling her children until 2020.

They wanted structure, socialization, and Christian education for their children, but also had concerns about public school exposure and strict attendance policies that would not allow touring. After learning about hybrid homeschooling from friends at Turning Point USA, she visited Learn Upstate Hybrid Academy in Anderson, SC, found it to be a refreshing solution and highly recommends it.

“He actually opened a school three years ago. It’s like a homeschool, teaching kids what kids need to know and not so much what some people in this world want them to know. It’s a really important thing, so I’m trying to help as much as I can. I believe he’s doing something extremely important there,” Gilbert said.

“So they call Mondays and Fridays ‘work days,’ and those are their two favorite days of the week,” Gilbert said of her two oldest children. “You know, my brother and my dad come and pick them up and they wake up, they go out the door at a million miles an hour and they really get them working. They start playing, but they have to work first.”

Gilbert said the tradition was instilled in him by his grandfather, and now his father is doing a “pretty good job” of passing it on to his children.

“I don’t know if I could be a father. I certainly wouldn’t be the kind of father that I want to be and try to be every day. I’m sure there would be an adjustment in life and I would prioritize that, but honestly, if I hadn’t removed that from my life, I don’t think I could have been a father. I wouldn’t have been a husband,” he explained.

Gilbert continued: “This is the biggest, scariest, most important job I’ve ever had, being a father. The reemergence of my wife made it possible. I will be forever grateful. I don’t think I would have seen any of this if I hadn’t made this lifestyle choice.”
