West Asia conflict: 15,000 passengers brought back by Indian airlines from conflict-hit region

Indian airlines have brought back nearly 15,000 stranded passengers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman since the beginning of this week.
Rescue flights began on March 2 and numbers continued through March 5. In the statement made by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, it was stated that 40 outbound flights were operated on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Some 51 flights are planned for Saturday, March 7, 2026; This is the highest figure since airstrikes in the region began on February 28.
Apart from Indian carriers, Gulf airlines such as Emirates, flydubai and Etihad also operate some special flights and a limited number of commercial services.
The ministry has also set up a control room and helpline for passengers seeking travel assistance. The numbers are 011-24604283 and 011-24632987.
