JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon says AI can enable a four-day work week for employees

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan, offered a different perspective on artificial intelligence, moving away from the narrative of replacing humans. Taking a fresh look at the future of work, Dimon said AI could eventually help reduce the standard workweek to four days.

He made these remarks in a recent interview with Bloomberg TV; Here, Dimon also explained that the company is already using Artificial Intelligence in hundreds of applications to streamline its operations. The technology takes on tasks such as fraud detection, risk management, marketing and error mitigation.

Highlighting the areas where the bank is actively integrating artificial intelligence, the CEO said, “We use artificial intelligence for risk, fraud, negotiation, insurance, note taking, idea generation, error reporting, reducing errors, and you know, there are 600 more use cases, I put 50 of them in the important category.”

Dimon’s previous stance on remote work

His latest comments contradict his previous views on remote work. He has previously made clear that he is not in favor of work-from-home arrangements where he believes they do not support productivity, but he has not said he is completely against it.

“I’m not against working from home. I’m against places that don’t work,” Dimon said in an interview with CNBC.

Artificial intelligence’s ability to increase productivity

During the call, Dimon also predicted that AI could increase productivity so much over the next three to four decades that future generations could work four days a week, or even three-and-a-half days a week.

Although he has previously been hesitant about the concept of remote work, Dimon described the possibility of shorter workweeks enabled by artificial intelligence as “a great thing.”

But he also warned that rapid deployment of artificial intelligence could lead to business disruptions and layoffs before workers and industries are fully prepared. His warning echoes concerns voiced by many technology executives as AI adoption accelerates across industries.

How is artificial intelligence changing human life?

The emergence of artificial intelligence has seriously impacted the lives of working professionals, with it increasingly serving as a productivity tool for white-collar jobs. The year 2025 was marked by artificial intelligence-related layoffs, and this increased concerns among employees about whether artificial intelligence will make their roles redundant.

A similar trend may be witnessed this year as many tech companies such as Amazon, Oracle and Meta have already reduced their corporate roles.

As concerns about layoffs continue to spread, many experts argue that AI can provide significant benefits, such as increasing productivity. However, they also emphasize that society must quickly adapt to these changes.
