In a statement made by the National Seismology Center (NCS), a 6.0 -magnitude earthquake shook Japan on Saturday night.
According to NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 50 km.
In an article in X, NCS, “M: 6.0, on: 04/10/2025 20:51:09 Ist, Lat: 37.45 N, Uzun: 141.52 E, Depth: 50 km, Location: Honshu, on the Near East coast of Japan.”

The whole country has a very active seismic field and have the most intense seismic network in the world, so they can record many earthquakes.
Japan is located in a volcanic area in the Pacific Fire Ring. Frequently low -density tremor and occasional volcanic activity on the islands are often felt. Destructive earthquakes, which usually result in tsunamis, occur several times in the century.
