‘Take your (expletive) hat off’
Donald Trump was at Dover Air Force Base on Saturday for the honorable transfer of six U.S. soldiers killed in Kuwait and…well, there were some people who thought the President didn’t conduct himself in a very honorable manner.
Problem?
While others bowed their heads, Trump appeared not to do so. He also wore his white USA baseball cap, which he did not remove during the ceremony.
“This idiot has ABSOLUTELY no dignity of recognition right now.” Former RNC chairman Michael Steele wrote on X while sharing a photo of Trump with his hat. “It’s called the Honorable Transfer for a reason. Take your (expletive) hat off.”
“Trump put on his campaign hat for an honorable transfer of US soldiers who died during his blunders in Iran,” Chris D. Jackson wrote of X. “These are the same people who attacked Biden all week for taking a quick glance at his watch. The hypocrisy is absolute. These people have no bottom.”
Blue Georgia wrote to X: “Shameful that Trump wore white baseball cap on honorable transfer.”
Another wrote to X: “The president of the United States wore his baseball cap during the honorable transfer of six American soldiers killed in the war with Iran.”
“Obama not wearing a tie in the Oval Office was a scandal that lasted for days,” Scary Lawyerguy wrote on X. “Trump was wearing a (expletive) baseball cap as dead U.S. soldiers were being taken off a plane at Dover AFB and it was crickets.”
There were many more comments like this. It will be interesting to see if the President is asked about the hat and the reaction to it.
Soldiers killed in action were Maj. Jeffrey O’Brien, Capt. Cody Khork, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens and Sgt. Declan Coady.
