Single UK ticket-holder wins £181 million jackpot in EuroMillions draw

A single ticket holder in the UK has won a staggering £181 million EuroMillions jackpot, one of the biggest lottery wins in British history.

This “life-changing” sum, £181,073,415.70 to be exact, makes it the third largest National Lottery prize ever claimed in the UK, according to operator Allwyn.

The lucky player successfully matched the five main numbers (12, 14, 27, 44 and 50) as well as the Lucky Star numbers 04 and 12.

The draw also saw other notable UK victories, including a ticket holder winning £355,164.90 by matching five main numbers and a Lucky Star, and a ticket holder winning £16,601.50 by matching five main numbers.

Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at Allwyn, said: “Fantastic news, someone in the UK has won a life-changing £181 million! Making this the biggest win of 2026 so far and the third biggest UK National Lottery winner of all time.”

“With a fortune this huge, this lucky winner would have a fortune like Adele (worth an estimated £170 million). Imagine the kind of lifestyle that could unlock this!

“Anyone purchasing a ticket should take some time to check carefully; you could be the winner we are looking for.”

Friday’s jackpot currently stands at an estimated £14 million.

In November, a lucky Euromillions player won the £157 million jackpot.

The ticket holder from France correctly selected the five winning numbers and two lucky stars.

When people win the lottery, a 180-day countdown begins from the day the numbers are drawn to claim their prize. At the end of this period, all unclaimed money and interest earned are transferred to the National Lottery Good Purposes fund.

Patrick Lisoire, consumer communications manager at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: Independent Those with paper tickets are less likely to claim their winnings than online players.

He said: “These are retail tickets that can remain unclaimed because you bought a paper ticket, if you put it in the wrong place, if you don’t check it in time, these tickets can expire even though it’s almost 6 months.”

Online players are repeatedly reminded to check their login details via phone and email, making people more likely to request them.
