The district administration established an investigation commission to investigate the matter.

Narrow escape for two
Speaking to the media in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, a relative of one of the dead workers said that the workers were working a few meters below when a pile of earth collapsed on them. The relatives of the deceased also demanded 50 thousand lira as compensation.
An injured worker said that a pile of earth suddenly collapsed on them and they were trapped under the rubble.
At least two workers at the site said they had a narrow escape because they had been sent to retrieve some supplies shortly before the incident.
Six of the dead were men from Jharkhand, while Satish was from Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Gurugram police said.
It was stated that among the four injured people, Indrajit, Chhotelal and Shivkam Chaudhary were residents of Nepal. The police informed the families of the victims.
On Tuesday, March 10, SDM Manesar Darshan Yadav also visited the accident scene and inspected it.
Satish had been working in the area for about a year and is survived by a 3-year-old son, including his brother Rameshwar, he told reporters.
He said that the safety regulations and equipment that should be present in such a construction were not there.
In his written complaint, he stated that the construction work of the STP plant at Signature Global Company was being carried out by a private construction company, where workers were employed in a deep ‘kutcha’ pit.
The complaint alleged that the construction company, the contractor, the project responsible, the site structure responsible, and the officer responsible for safety failed to provide adequate safety arrangements and safety equipment.
The complaint alleged that this failure led to the accident caused by soil subsidence, resulting in the death of the complainant’s brother and other workers.
Gurugram Police said they are also examining whether there was any delay in informing the police and district administration about the incident.
The Ministry of Labor issued an order banning any construction until safe working conditions are ensured. Sumit Kumar, Deputy Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Gurugram-II, inspected the area on Tuesday, March 10, and made various observations.
According to the instructions, there are observations that the excavation shores, which are approximately 30 meters deep, have been cut so far below that they may create a landslide and endanger the lives of workers.
Part of the perimeter wall adjacent to the excavation has already collapsed towards the interior of the excavation. The excavation walls have been precariously hollowed out in multiple places beneath the remaining wall. The senior official observed that the wall of pillars was hanging at several places and literally providing less support, which could lead to loss of life.
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar constituted a committee of officials headed by Manesar sub-district magistrate to investigate the matter.
The committee was instructed to conduct a detailed investigation into the causes of the incident and submit the investigation report within the specified time.
The district administration said the committee will submit a report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office within a certain period of time.
