Teenage girl is stabbed at school as terrified pupils cower under desks and police arrest boy, 16

A teenage boy has been arrested after a teenage girl was stabbed and suffered minor injuries at a school near Norwich, Norfolk Police said.

Armed police were called to Thorpe St Andrew school at around 10.24am following reports that a young girl had been stabbed.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and took him to Wymondham Police Investigation Center for questioning.

According to local reports, students at the school were told to hide under their desks and turn off their phones while teachers barricaded classroom doors.

After hearing the reports, dozens of parents came to the school and begged the authorities for more information.

One student at the school, who was able to contact his family, sent a message saying ‘I’m so scared’, while another sent a message saying ‘I just want to go home’.

Police said it appeared the stabbing was not linked to anti-Semitic chants at an under-15 football match played at the school last week.

Police were called to Thorpe St Andrew school in Laundry Lane at around 10.245am following reports that a teenage girl had been stabbed.

‘This incident is not believed to be linked to a hate crime reported at the same school last week.’

Last week, Jewish teenagers claimed they were told to “go back to the gas chambers” and called spectators “dirty Zionists” at a school football tournament.

They also heard repeated “Jewish” chants and insults directed at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while a mixed-race boy claimed he was called a “N***** Jew” by the crowd during the quarter-finals of the Under-15 national football tournament on March 5.

One child claimed he was called a ‘monkey’; The term was used by Islamic extremists as an insult against the Jewish people.

Students from the Free Jewish School (JFS) in London told the Daily Mail they felt ‘threatened’, ‘hurt’ and ‘ashamed to be Jewish’ after hearing the offensive remarks, which they said started from the moment the team started warming up on the pitch at Thorpe St Andrew’s School.

They claim school staff ‘didn’t seem to care’ after JFS students raised their concerns and instead allowed the abuse to continue.

The audience appears to have consisted mainly of Thorpe St Andrew students.
