Ricky Gervais’s long-term partner Jane Fallon reveals she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer

Jane Fallon, author of best-selling books, announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer even though she showed no symptoms.
Fallon, who has been in a relationship with comedian Ricky Gervais for more than 40 years, shared the news today and admitted that she’s been “a little quiet lately.”
She wrote on Instagram: ‘So… There have been a few people noticing that I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately so I thought I’d share something.
‘About a month ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer; Fortunately, it is at a very early stage and the prognosis is excellent.
‘I had a routine mammogram the week before Christmas. I had no symptoms, but the master radiographer noticed something suspicious and sent me for further testing and eventually a biopsy.
‘Since then I’ve had more mammograms, more biopsies and MRIs so they could pinpoint the problem area. ‘It’s been a long time, I won’t lie.’
The 65-year-old man stated that his surgery was planned for next week, adding that he “wanted to finish this job now.”
‘I’m getting incredible interest and everything will be fine but I’m not interested in much beyond audiobooks and puzzles. Dr Eric is on duty. ‘Nurse Pickle is wondering when lunch is,’ she said.

Harrow-born Fallon began her relationship with Mr Gervais in 1982 after meeting him while they were both studying at University College London.
The couple are said to have started living together in 1984 and now live in Hampstead, west London, with their beloved pets.
Fans expressed their condolences to Fallon; They stated that they were ‘saddened’ to hear the news, but that it was fortunate that the cancer was ‘caught early’.
One person said: ‘I’m so sorry to hear this but thank goodness we were caught early. Success rates are very good these days and you are in the best hands. X.’

She said: ‘When I was little, you know the stereotype of a little girl is that they dream about their wedding day and their wedding dress… it was never any of that.
‘I’d consider getting a dog or something. It was always about work and my life. I would think about the apartment I would live in or something.
‘But I was never into that kind of romantic stuff.’
Fallon admitted that her anxiety made her a domineering mother and compared herself to one of her sisters, whom she praised for finding the perfect balance while raising her children.
‘I’m a real doomsayer… I assume the worst,’ he admitted.
Fallon and her husband have also been open about their decision not to marry.
Mr Gervais previously said: ‘For all intents and purposes we are married, everything is shared and in fact our fake marriage has lasted longer than the real one.
‘But there is no point in us having a real ceremony before God’s eyes, because there is no God.’
