Raids To Check Black Marketing Of LPG Cylinders

by chance : Amid the LPG crisis, the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Uttar Pradesh raided 1,483 locations here and arrested six persons in an operation to check black marketing of cooking gas cylinders, according to the official statement. The raids were carried out together with the district administration on Friday.
In a statement made by the Uttar Pradesh government late on Friday night, it was stated that 24 FIRs were registered as part of the operation.
It was stated that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Food and Civil Supplies Department and the district administration are constantly monitoring the supply system of LPG cylinders and conducting inspections and raids across the state to ensure that there is no shortage or irregularity anywhere.
In this regard, Chief Secretary SP Goyal directed all district magistrates to take all necessary steps to maintain availability of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders.
Uttar Pradesh became the first state to take swift and stringent action against black marketing. In the statement, it was stated that within the scope of this work, district-level law enforcement forces carried out inspections and raids at a total of 1,483 points on Friday.
During this operation, 4 FIRs were registered against LPG distributors and 20 FIRs against others involved in black marketing of LPG gas. It was stated that 6 people were arrested at the scene and an investigation was launched against 19 people.
LPG cylinders were delivered to consumers as per their bookings through 4,108 LPG gas distributors operating in the state.
In the statement, it was stated that distributors have sufficient LPG cylinder stocks and domestic LPG refills are supplied if needed.
A 24-hour control room has been set up in the food commissioner’s office to monitor the supply system and ensure any problems are resolved quickly. It was stated that Food and Civil Supplies Department officers were assigned there.
Control rooms have also been set up in all districts of the state.
