Bridget Bean, former acting director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), told Fox News on Friday that the Iranian regime is using artificial intelligence to create a false “global narrative” that it is winning the war with the United States.

“They can’t win on the battlefield, so they’re going to try to win through artificial intelligence and a global narrative,” Bean said on “The Ingraham Angle.”

“And the old playbooks were very noticeable — funny faces or out-of-time lip-syncing — but they were very successful at some of the AI manipulations. And we saw that.”

Bean said those quickly scrolling through their phones might not notice that something was amiss with the regime’s AI-generated content and urged people to “be mindful of what’s going on.”

“Their goal is to weaken our will, our resolve, and really push a narrative that is not true,” he added.

The New York Post reported Iran on Thursday released AI-altered images of new religious leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and it came on the heels of reports that he was too injured to appear in public.

Shayan Sardarizadeh, a senior journalist at BBC Verify, said photos recently published in Iranian state media and on Khamenei’s X account were edited using online artificial intelligence tools.

“What we’ve seen is not surprising. They’ve played the same playbook since June 2025. They did so during the 12-day war, and it’s really the first time in a global conflict that we’ve seen AI-generated disinformation outpace traditional propaganda.”
