Baby tragically dies aged just 11 months old sparking police investigation | UK | News

Police have launched an investigation after an 11-month-old boy died at a home in County Durham.
Emergency services were called to an address in the Deneside area of Seaham at around 8.45am on Thursday following reports of an incident involving a child. Durham Constabulary confirmed the baby died tragically and said officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A police spokesman said police were working to determine what happened.
Police teams remained at the facility while investigations were carried out.
The North East Ambulance Service said it received a call early that morning reporting an incident at a private address in the town.
A spokesman for the service said: “We received a call at 8.36am on Thursday 12 March to reports of an incident at a private address in Seaham.

“We sent two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic and a duty officer to the scene and sought support from our colleagues at the Great Northern Air Ambulance Service.”
Despite all the efforts of the firefighters who arrived at the scene, it was determined that the little child died.
Police have not yet released further details about the circumstances of the incident but confirmed investigations are ongoing.
Seaham, a coastal town in County Durham, saw emergency vehicles at the scene as police officers launched an investigation into the tragic death.
