Two dead, 10 injured in Ukraine attack on Russia border

Two people died and 10 people were injured in Ukraine’s attack on Russia’s border region of Bryansk.
Regional Deputy Governor Yegor Kovalchuk said on Thursday that two people were killed and two others were injured in the bombardment of the Suzemka region near the border, and seven people were injured in the attack on gas stations in Starodub, about 110 km away.
In a separate drone attack, a five-year-old boy was also injured.
A 44-year-old woman was killed and another 33-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Russian drone strike in Ukraine’s northern Sumy region, regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said early Friday.
According to local officials’ statement on Telegram, three more people were injured in a drone attack in Ukraine’s southern city of Mykolaiv.
Reuters was unable to independently verify the events.
Meanwhile, the military governor of Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhya region on Thursday urged Ukrainians living under Russian occupation to leave the region as Kiev stepped up air strikes on occupied parts of the country.
Ivan Fedorov said that Ukrainian forces are targeting Russian military infrastructure and supply routes in the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.
He also said the Russian military was deploying more forces to protect its facilities, further increasing the danger to civilians.
“That’s why I urge everyone not to postpone the decision to leave,” Fedorov said.
Ukraine has dealt many significant blows to the Russian occupation forces recently. While the officials appointed by Russia had to accept the attacks on important bridges leading to Crimea, it was reported that there was a fuel shortage at gas stations.
