Warwick Davis’s mystery girlfriend ‘Sponge’ is a woman called Yvette who has been helping him to smile again after losing his wife
She’s the woman affectionately nicknamed Sponge, who helped Warwick Davis ‘laugh and love again’ after his wife’s death.
As the Harry Potter star received her OBE from Prince William earlier this week, many speculated whether the brunette looking on proudly was the mystery girlfriend.
It has now been revealed that her name is Yvette and that she has been with Davis, 56, for a year.
A source close to the actor said: ‘Warwick went through a very difficult time when he lost his wife, it was very, very difficult for him and his children. He is very happy with Yvette and hopes that he can live an enjoyable life with her without being in the spotlight.’
Davis revealed on stage last year that she had found love again when she accepted the Bafta Scholarship.
During his speech he said: ‘Sponge should also be given a special name, you know who he is. Thank you for showing me that life can still have meaning and for helping me laugh and love again.’
On Wednesday, the 6ft 6in prince was photographed crouching down to pin the OBE medal on the 3ft 6in Davis for services to drama and charity at Windsor Castle, standing next to the actor’s two children.
It was also revealed last night that he attended the Bafta Film Awards with Davis at London’s Royal Festival Hall last month.

Davis, who accepted the Bafta Scholarship on stage last year, shared the news that he had found love again.
Although American-born Yvette has accompanied him to many events, including his Madness concert in Cornwall, he keeps his profile low and the only trace of him online is an Instagram account set to private.
When The Mail on Sunday approached Davis yesterday, she did not deny her new partner’s name was Yvette.
Friends of Davis say that he managed to put a smile on his face after the tragic death of his wife Sammy, who suffered a heart attack during spinal surgery in a London hospital in April 2024.
Davis said she, her daughter Annabelle and son Harrison were devastated by the 53-year-old man’s sudden death.
He added in a statement: ‘He was a unique character who always saw the sunny side of life. ‘He had a wicked sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes.’
Born with a rare form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, Davis met Sammy on the set of the 1988 fantasy film Willow, where they both starred opposite Val Kilmer.
