P4 Programme Helping Poor Families Progress: Collector

: NTR district collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha said on Sunday that the P4 program was implemented effectively in the region and provided support and opportunities to underprivileged families.

Speaking at a program organized at the regional office of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in Gandhinagar, Vijayawada, the collector inaugurated the distribution of sewing machines to women beneficiaries under the P4 initiative. The newly installed elevator in the building was also opened.

Dr Lakshmisha said the Red Cross district committee played a key role in implementing various service-oriented initiatives, including the P4 programme. He noted that on the Prime Minister’s call, industrialists, philanthropists and prominent personalities came forward to support welfare initiatives.

The Collector said around 78,000 ‘Bangaru Kutumbalu’ (designated beneficiary families) have been recognized in the district, while around 5,000 mentors (Margadarshis) have registered to guide and support them. Management reviews the program regularly to ensure that mentoring support helps families achieve sustainable development and economic stability.

Industrialist Challa Rajendra Prasad pledged full support in the humanitarian initiatives of the Red Cross Society.

AP State Higher Education Council President Prof. K. Madhumurthy stated that the services provided by the Red Cross regional committee are exemplary and said that university students’ participation in social service programs should be encouraged.

Dr P. Srinivasulu, chairman of Advance Aqua Biotechnologies, said he was happy to contribute after witnessing the humanitarian activities carried out by the district Red Cross committee.

IRCS state president YD Rama Rao, vice president P. Ramachandra Raju and district president Dr G. Samaram also spoke about the activities and future plans of the organisation.

IRCS district vice president Dr Velaga Joshi, secretary E. Chittibabu and members Balaram, Jayaraju, Bhashyam Joshi, Ramesh and others were present.
