Kota Srinivasa Rao Name Mentioned ‘In Memoriam Segment’
Kota Srinivasa Rao was one of the finest actors of Indian cinema. His death created a void in the field of cinema and he is irreplaceable. However, there is some news that will delight all fans of Kota and Telugu cinema. Kota was commemorated at the 98th Academy Awards ceremony.
The academy paid tribute to Kota Srinivas Rao in the “Memorial section”. It is their annual ritual to pay tribute to many legendary figures from Hollywood and around the world. But a select group of celebrities made the list, and Kota was among them. Besides Kota Srinivasa Rao, the list also includes other celebrities from Hindi cinema who have passed away in the last one year.
Besides Kota Srinivasa Rao, tributes were also paid to Indian cinema personalities such as Dharmendra, Manoj Kumar and B. Saroja Devi on the occasion. Hollywood stars such as Rob Reiner, Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Catherine O’Hara and Diane Keaton were also commemorated during the event.
Kota Srinivas Rao was born on 10 July 1942 and started his career as a bank employee. He has acted in more than 700 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada.
He served as MLA representing the Bharatiya Janata Party from Vijayawada East constituency from 1999 to 2004.
