Darren Day looked worlds away from his ’90s heyday when he stepped into Essex to visit a second-hand jewelery store on Thursday.
The 57-year-old actor and singer, best known as the leading man of West End musical theatre, showed off a very different look as he entered the shops with a miniature cactus in hand.
Darren wore a black leather jacket over a plain white t-shirt and a matching skinny ripped tee. jeans.
The Celebrity Big Brother star wore a pair of lace-up black boots and opted for some long gold necklaces.
Darren combed his graying locks to one side and showed off his long beard for the low-key outing.
She was seen carrying a large tote bag alongside the miniature cactus and later grabbed an energy drink.

Last month Darren was rushed to A&E with a suspected broken arm, just hours before he was due to make his final appearance in the touring production of Mother Goose.
The actor said on Instagram at the time: ‘I’m currently sitting in A&E with broken bones in my wrist and elbow. ‘There’s just over an hour until we go on stage!’
Darren plays the evil Demon Vanity in the Easter production of Mother Goose, alongside former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan as Princess Jill and Basil Brush as King Basil.
The experienced stage actor was preparing for the second of two shows at the Roses Theater in Tewkesbury when he had the accident.
Commenting on his latest Instagram update, co-star Helen wrote: ‘The best Darren I love you so much.’ [sic]
Darren and his cast mates were on a month-long UK tour with Anson Benson Productions’ stage show. Their final show is scheduled for April 19 at the Victoria Theater in Halifax.
The artist’s visit to A&E came shortly after he confirmed he and his former partner Suzanne were grandparents.
Former Hear’Say singer Suzanne revealed on Instagram that Corey’s girlfriend has given birth to son Colton.
Although their relationship was tumultuous to say the least when they split in 2005, the former couple buried the hatchet as they put on a united front while smiling with the newborn.

While co-starring in the touring theater production of Summer Holiday in 2003, Darren had an illicit affair with Shaw, despite both being engaged to other people.
The actor’s reputation and career took a nosedive after he left the singer and their seven-week-old son, Corey, on Mother’s Day in 2005 while she was struggling with postpartum depression and reportedly declared, ‘I’m not doing a family.’
Now entering a new era as grandparents, Day joked about the former couple’s age difference, writing: ‘Grandpa loves you so much…and is actually old enough to be Grandma or Grandpa, unlike Nanny! @suzi_shaw’.
Shaw added: ‘It’s a beautiful thing, it’s a real thing, My little boy Corey has become the father of a precious son softly wrapped in blue.
