Murder charges after mother, baby daughter found dead

A man who allegedly stabbed his partner and young daughter to death has been charged with two counts of murder.
Queensland Police allege the 38-year-old killed a 37-year-old woman and her 11-month-old daughter at their home in Logan on Thursday.
The violent tragedy unfolded after reports that a man was struck by a car not far from the grisly scene 30km south of Brisbane.
Police were trying to reach the man’s next of kin when they found the bodies of the woman and her daughter in the family’s home.
Police said at the time that both died of serious injuries sustained from a sharp weapon.
Witnesses were alarmed after seeing a bloodied man running along a footpath and then being hit by a black vehicle about 300 meters from the family home.
Evidence markers were placed along the pathway, marking a trail of blood from the house in the hours after the murders.
The seriously injured man remains in hospital and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates’ Court via video link on Wednesday.
