Trump threatens to ‘massively blow up’ Iran’s gas field, blasts Israel | US | News

After publicly scolding Israel for striking first, Donald Trump threatened to destroy Iran’s most strategically vital gas facility, insisting the US “knew nothing” about the strike.
The president condemned Israel’s attack on the South Pars Gas Field on Truth Social, saying Israel “violently attacked” in anger, then warned that America would destroy the same target if Iran continued to attack Qatar.
Mr Trump was outraged: “Israel, enraged by what is happening in the Middle East, violently attacked a major facility in Iran known as the South Pars Gas Field.”
He added that Qatar “was not involved in this in any way and had no idea that this was going to happen” and that “unfortunately Iran did not know about it”.
US threat
Unless Iran chose to strike Qatar again, South Pars would remain untouched; But Trump has made clear that further aggression, with or without Israeli intervention, would mobilize American firepower.
“With or without Israeli assistance or consent, the US will massively blow up the entire South Pars Gas Field with a force and power Iran has never seen or witnessed before,” he wrote.
“I do not want to allow this level of violence and destruction because of the long-term consequences it will have on Iran’s future, but I will not hesitate to do so if Qatar’s LNG is attacked again,” he added.
Qatar under fire
The chain of destruction began with the Israeli attack on South Pars; This attack prompted immediate Iranian retaliation against the Ras Laffan Industrial City, the nerve center of Qatar’s energy exports and the largest LNG terminal on the planet. QatarEnergy confirmed that the Pearl GTL facility sustained major damage.
New attacks by Iran then sparked what QatarEnergy described as “massive fires” burning at multiple facilities in the complex. Emergency teams were quickly dispatched to the region, and the situation was partially brought under control, and there was no loss of life.
On Tuesday, Qatar’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that two of three fires in the Ras Laffan Industrial Zone were brought under control without anyone being harmed. Efforts to cool and secure the remaining affected areas were ongoing.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an angry statement condemning Tehran.
“Iran’s brutal attacks on regional countries have crossed all red lines by targeting civilians, civilian infrastructure and vital facilities,” the statement said.
“The Ministry emphasizes the need to carry out efforts to reduce tension in order to protect the region from the consequences of these unjust attacks and to re-establish regional and international security and stability.”
