An Oklahoma man with a long criminal history was arrested after allegedly breaking into a family’s home and climbing into bed with their young child.
Authorities were called to a home in Oklahoma City after Josh Hodnik’s 11-year-old son was shaken awake by a strange man in his bed on Saturday, March 14. accordingly COPD.
“My son woke me up and said, ‘Hey, there’s a guy in my bed,'” Hodnik told the press.

“It kind of shocked me, shook me up,” Hodnik said. “And I said, ‘What, what are you saying, what do you mean?’ I thought. “I thought he was sleepwalking and he realized it was his imagination or something.”
However, when Hodnik went to check his bedroom, he realized that his son was telling the truth.
“An adult man was lying on the bed,” Hodnik said, according to KOKH. “He brought his own blanket, he had a sock on his feet, he had no shoes.”

Hodnik recalled his two children playing in the family’s yard the night before the incident. When the kids came in, the father said they didn’t lock the front door and didn’t check before going to bed.
“I didn’t check the front door after playing outside on Friday night,” Hodnik told KOKH. “And it was my fault. I wish I had, but I shouldn’t have had to. Okay? We shouldn’t live in a society where someone else walks in your front door.”

The man, identified as 46-year-old Charles Bradford, was later taken into custody and charged with first-degree burglary and five misdemeanors, according to the publication.

Bradford was convicted of first-degree murder after killing his cellmate in prison in 2002, KOKH reported.
The revelation of Bradford’s past caused Hodnik to question how a repeat offender was allowed to roam the streets freely.

“The guy shouldn’t have been on the street, period. He killed his cellmate. The guy has 12 violent felonies, assault on an officer, assault on medical personnel multiple times. And then let this guy go free,” Hodnik was quoted as saying.
Following his most recent conviction in Oklahoma City, the district attorney’s office said KOKH Bradford applied to mental health court because authorities determined stability and treatment would benefit him.

However, authorities are reportedly evaluating his ability to continue as a participant in light of the new charges against him.
“He doesn’t need to be on the street,” Hodnik told the outlet. “You know, when the trouble came up, I felt bad for the guy. But at the same time, he came to my house and laid in my kid’s bed, and it was all I could do to not kill the guy.”

Bradford remains in custody at the Cleveland County Detention Center on $75,000 bail, according to court records obtained by Fox News Digital.
The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
