David Spade blames Karen Bass and Newsom for Hollywood’s ongoing decline

David Spade calls out California leadership for Hollywood’s collapse.
In a recent episode of his podcast, “Flying on the Wall“The Hollywood industry is dying,” the 61-year-old actor and comedian said, co-hosting with Dana Carvey, and that he was “just trying to place the blame.”
“Man, I’m so old,” he said. “I was at CBS Radford when they were filming ‘Just Shoot Me’… They were also filming ‘Seinfeld’ and I saw him on his bike. It was the best. Of course I just filed for bankruptcy, it’s terrifying in L.A. Thank you, [LA Mayor] Karen Bas. Thanks, [Gov.] Gavin [Newsom]”
Carvey agreed that “the Hollywood studio system was dying” and insisted that changes were needed to revive it.

Spade and Carvey aren’t the only celebrities concerned with the current state of Hollywood and the growing trend of producing movies and TV shows not only in other states but also in other countries.

“We’ve come to a point where we really need help, and thank God the president cares about Hollywood and movies,” Voight said. “He’s got a lot of love for Hollywood in that respect. We’ve got to roll up our sleeves here. We can’t let this go to waste like Detroit.”
Speaking to the outlet, Voight said that “there are a lot of smart people in each studio who take advantage of a lot of benefits and gifts that are distributed around the world to attract people to different countries.”

“I’m old enough to have touched several years of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and I’ve seen that era slowly decay since then,” he said. “We’re in pretty bad shape today. Very few movies are being made here right now, but we’re lucky to have a new President who wants to return Hollywood to its former glory, and with his help I believe we can get it done.”
