‘Meteorite’ CRASHES into woman’s home as residents are left terrified by massive sonic boom

A suspicious meteorite crashed into the roof of a woman’s home in Houston.

Authorities believe it may be a 10-foot meteor fragment spotted in the area on Saturday afternoon.

Sherrie James lives just outside of Houston and called the Ponderosa Fire Department about a rock falling on her home. FOX 26 reported.

James said the rock entered his daughter’s bedroom through the roof, bounced off the floor, hit the ceiling again and landed on her bed. There was no one in the room at the time and no one was injured.

Fire Capt. Tyler Ellingham and his crew responded to the call after James’ grandson checked the attic and found a hole in the roof.

Initially, Ellingham’s team told James that the rock had probably fallen from a plane before leaving his home. They went back a short time later and revised their hypothesis; Now they say it was probably part of the meteor.

James said he was a little scared during the impact, but he would definitely hold the rock, which he said was very heavy.

NASA has since confirmed that a meteor became visible for the first time 49 miles above Stagecoach, a small town northwest of Houston.

‘It moved southeast at 35,000 miles per hour and disintegrated 46 miles above Bammel, just west of Cypress Station. The disintegration of the meteor, which weighed about a ton and was 3 feet in diameter, created a pressure wave that caused explosions heard by some in the area, NASA said in a social media post.

Before NASA’s confirmation, people in the Greater Houston area were already aware something was happening, largely due to the incredibly loud explosion heard.

‘I heard it in Katy, Texas. It was so loud! No image could be obtained. “It sounded like a sonic boom,” Teresa Wojcik wrote on Facebook.

I felt and heard it as it shook our home in Hockley, Texas. “We assumed it was thunder,” Jasmine Brockett wrote.

‘Porter, Texas. “We heard it and the window shook slightly,” said Debbie Smith-Stephens.

The meteor in Houston came days after an even larger space object was spotted over Lake Erie near Cleveland, Ohio.

James said the rock ripped a hole in the roof, fell into his daughter's bedroom, bounced off the floor, hit the ceiling and then landed on her bed.

NASA described it as a ‘small asteroid’ six meters in diameter and weighing around seven tonnes. It hurtled through the sky at 45,000 miles per hour before disintegrating over Valley City.

People in many states from Pennsylvania to Ohio witnessed this meteor.

Witnesses in Pittsburgh reported seeing what appeared to be a burning object streaking across the sky.

One resident wrote online: ‘911 call in town. ‘I have relatives who heard the explosion from Hinckley, Ohio, to Sandusky.’
