England squad: Harvey Barnes set to replace injured Eberechi Eze

Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes will be called up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad to replace the injured Eberechi Eze.
Eze was not included in Arsenal’s squad in the 2-0 Carabao Cup final match against Manchester City on Sunday due to his lower leg injury.
Barnes was previously called up when he earned his England cap in a friendly against Wales in October 2020.
Scotland have tried to persuade Barnes to change his international allegiance and play for Steve Clarke’s side at this summer’s World Cup; The 28-year-old player qualified for this team through his grandparents.
But Barnes turned down Scotland’s offer and is now expected to feature in Tuchel’s friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, with some fringe players given the chance to stake a claim for a regular place.
The Three Lions will face Uruguay on March 27 and Japan on March 31 at Wembley Stadium.
Barnes has scored 14 goals in all competitions for Newcastle this season.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen said that defender Jarell Quansah will not be able to take part in the England friendly matches due to a thigh injury.
