Iran fires missiles at American military bases across the Gulf and says US is ‘negotiating with yourselves’ – live updates

After Donald Trump sent a 15-point peace plan to Tehran to end the war, Iran targeted American military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain with a new missile salvo.

In a statement carried by Iranian media, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said the targets were ‘in the heart of the occupied territories’ as it renewed its attacks on Gulf countries.

This comes despite claims from the Trump administration that Iran ‘wants a bad deal’ to stop the violence and that Tehran has abandoned its nuclear ambitions.

“They’re talking to us and they’re talking sense,” the president told reporters in the Oval Office.

However, Iranian military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari mocked Trump’s latest words and claimed that the US was “negotiating with yourself.”

‘Whoever claims to be a global superpower would have gotten out of this mess long ago if he could,’ he said.

Trump sends 15-point plan to end Iran war

Donald Trump apparently sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war.

The New York Times, quoting unnamed officials, said the US sent its offer to Iran through Pakistan after the country’s prime minister offered to host US-Iran talks.

Israel’s Channel 12 broadcaster said Trump proposed a one-month ceasefire in which the sides would discuss a proposal that would include the surrender of Iran’s enriched uranium and a ban on further enrichment.

Iran will also ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Israeli report, Iran will also end all sanctions that have been imposed in various forms for years.

Iran will also receive assistance in developing civilian nuclear energy in Bushehr, an important region that predates the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they fired a new wave of missiles at US bases hosting American troops in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, as well as in Israel.

Tehran has continued its retaliatory attacks against Israel and the Gulf states, which it accuses of serving as a launching pad for US attacks.

Drones crashed into a fuel depot and sparked a fire at Kuwait International Airport, causing ‘limited’ damage, the Gulf nation’s civil aviation authority said.

In Bahrain, the interior ministry said air raid sirens were activated, while Jordan’s public security directorate reported that shrapnel fell near the capital Amman and did not cause any loss of life or damage.

Saudi Arabia said at least four UAVs were seized in the east of the kingdom.

In recent attacks on Gulf countries, US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain were targeted.
