Retired Detective Claims He Found Marilyn Monroe’s Lost Diary, Asks for Her Death to Be Reexamined

Retired LAPD detective Mike Rothmiller says he found 70 photocopied pages from Marilyn Monroe’s so-called ‘red diary’ in department records, a claim he says supports the investigation into her 1962 death. In a Daily Mail report dated Wednesday, March 25, Rothmiller describes entries referencing ‘John’ and ‘Bobby’, which he believes refer to President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. The pages, said to be taken from a file, contain notes on relationships and political issues, including the assassination plan against Fidel Castro. A later entry dated 3 August 1962 reads ‘Peter said Robert would arrive tomorrow’ and claims that this challenged the official verdict of possible suicide. Rothmiller asked L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman to re-examine the case.
