Tiger Woods arrested at crash scene on DUI charge, Florida police
Jupiter Island, Florida: Tiger Woods was arrested on drunken driving charges Friday after his Land Rover rolled over on a two-lane road near his home on Florida’s Jupiter Island, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 50-year-old was found to be showing signs of impairment and refused to submit to a urine test in prison, and a breathalyzer test showed no trace of alcohol; researchers believed the disorder was drug or medication-related.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. Friday (Florida time), not far from where Woods lives on Jupiter Island.
Woods’ manager at Excel Sports did not immediately respond to a text message seeking information.
This was at least the third time Woods was involved in a car accident; most recently in February 2021, when his SUV went off a beach road in Los Angeles at a high rate of speed, causing multiple leg and ankle injuries. Doctors later considered amputation, Woods said.
