Indian Worker Killed as Iran Strikes Kuwait’s Power Plant

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said an Indian worker was killed Sunday evening after the service building at a major electricity and water desalination plant was hit, in what authorities described as an Iranian attack.
A ministry spokesperson confirmed that the attack caused significant material damage to the facility. Emergency and technical teams were immediately deployed to manage the incident and maintain operations.
Officials said the response was carried out in coordination with security and relevant authorities to ensure the safety of the affected area. The ministry also called on the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours, assuring them that updates would be shared transparently.
Officials emphasized that ensuring the stability of electricity and water systems remains a top priority and that teams are constantly working to prevent further outages.
Meanwhile, a United Nations peacekeeper was killed and another was seriously injured when a shell hit a UNIFIL position near Adchit Al Qusayr in southern Lebanon. It is not yet known where the bullet came from, the investigation is ongoing.
UNIFIL expressed its condolences for the loss and said the injured peacekeepers were being treated in hospital. It was emphasized that attacks against peacekeepers violate international law and may constitute a war crime.
Separately, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its troops had eliminated Hezbollah militants preparing to attack Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Soldiers also discovered a weapons cache containing anti-tank missiles, grenades and explosives.
The IDF said it would continue operations against Hezbollah, accusing the group of acting on behalf of Iran and participating in attacks against Israel.
