The Chicago Bulls waived guard Jaden Ivey after he posted videos in which his rants about religion and other topics led him to call on the NBA to celebrate Pride Month.
The Bulls said in a statement Monday that this was due to behavior that was detrimental to the team.
Video of Ivey addressing the league was released Monday morning because she said it was “injustice” that the NBA would be celebrating Pride Month.

While Ivey has been posting similar rant videos in recent weeks, the 24-year-old actress has stated that she has dealt with depression in the past.
“The world can declare LGBTQ, right?” Ivey said his last video. “They’re declaring Pride Month and the NBA. They’re declaring this. They’re showing it to the world. They’re saying, ‘Come join us in Pride Month to celebrate injustice.’ They’re declaring it. They’re declaring it on billboards. They’re declaring it in the streets. Injustice. So how come people can’t talk about integrity? Who is it that they say this guy is crazy?”

Ivey also said in a different video that Catholicism is a “fake religion,” which is a potential problem for Ivey’s mother.
Niele Ivey is the head women’s basketball coach at Notre Dame, which is, of course, a Catholic university.
Ivey was previously traded to the Bulls as part of a three-team deal that included the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ivey was selected fifth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Pistons, who expected him to be a key piece in the rebuild. He had a strong start to his career, making the 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie team by averaging 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game and shooting 41.6% from the field.
The Purdue product scored a career-high 17.6 points per game throughout the 2024-25 season.
However, Ivey has seen a decline in his production this year; He was playing off the bench for the Pistons before the trade.
