Novo Nordisk On Tuesday, Wegovy launched a multi-month subscription program for its obesity drug products, aiming to ensure cash-paying patients see lower, “predictable” monthly prices.
Eligible patients will be able to choose between three-, six- or 12-month subscriptions for the Wegovy injection or the two highest doses of the newly launched pill under the same brand name. Longer plans offer lower monthly pricing, and the company expects people to save up to $1,200 per year on the injection and $600 per year on the pill compared to paying for their individual doses each month, according to the Novo statement.
The company said patients can expect to pay fixed monthly prices even if they switch to different doses. The subscription program will be available starting Tuesday at many of Novo’s telehealth partners, including Ro, WeightWatchers and LifeMD. Sesame, His and Hers and more are expected to be added soon.
Ed Cinca, Novo’s president of marketing and patient solutions, said this first-of-its-kind offering is “an opportunity to help patients not only begin treatment, but also continue treatment and manage the ups and downs of some of the pricing considerations,” whether they’re starting treatment or currently taking the drug.
The inability to maintain GLP-1s is a long-standing problem due to factors such as difficulty accessing medications and gastrointestinal side effects. a 2025 study It is estimated that approximately 65% of obesity patients discontinue treatment within a year.

Eli Lilly later this year. Lilly is currently the dominant player in the branded GLP-1 market in the US, with an estimated 60% share, while Novo has approximately 39%.
The Wegovy pill is largely reaching people who have never had a GLP-1 injection before, making it vital for Novo to capture as many new patients as possible before a competitor arrives.

However, starting in September, the cost of a 4-milligram dose will be $199 per month. Meanwhile, the recently approved 7.2-milligram dose of Wegovy will also be added to the subscription program at a later date.
Cinca emphasized that if patients no longer want to sign up, they can unsubscribe while the subscription is active.
“We want to help patients identify a path to help them feel comfortable with treatment.” [obesity] in the long term,” he added.
Cinca said Novo has not yet offered the program in its NovoCare direct-to-consumer pharmacy, but added that there is “an opportunity to evaluate how this is going and then build that out” through that platform over time.
