Following the inauguration, Carey was asked about her prediction on replacing Daniel Bond as James Bond.
The actor left his iconic 007 role following 2021’s No Time To Die.
He said: ‘Oh my God, this is so difficult. It’s really hard, isn’t it?
‘He’s got big shoes to fill. I think it was because Daniel was a phenomenal actor, I don’t think he was the type of person you would consider for that role.
‘I think the important thing is that it has to be someone who is an incredible actor.’
Carey was awarded the BAFTA award for Best Actress for her role in the film An Education in 2010.
He added: ‘I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do a job that I truly love. To have this kind of recognition is truly remarkable for me.’
The star had previously received three Oscar nominations for the films An Education, Promising Young Woman and most recently 2023 Maestro.
This comes after Carey sweetly recalled that she and husband Marcus Mumford were pen pals as kids.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, she recalled that she and Marcus met at a summer camp when they were children.
They kept in touch through letters for about 10 years before losing touch. The couple later met again when Carey was 24 and they married in 2012.
Speaking on GMB he said: ‘We went to the same summer camp as kids and then became pen pals and kept in touch that way, we didn’t have phones!’
‘When fax machines were good we used to do some faxing! We need to convince the kids to become pen pals again. “This is a good thing.”
‘Then we lost touch for about ten years and then reconnected.’
Presenter Richard Madeley later joked: ‘It was written in the stars!’
The program then showed a video of Marcus carrying her down the aisle on her wedding day, gushing: ‘Oh, look at us. This was because my shoes were so painful that I couldn’t walk.
‘And I just said I’m done, you’re going to have to carry me. Then he put me down and huffed and puffed.’
