Oracle’s layoffs signal deepening AI threat for software firms and employees

Employees in sales, human resources, engineering and developer roles faced the axe after receiving an email from the company’s executives at 6am on Wednesday (in all time zones) citing a “broader organizational change”. Following a June-May fiscal calendar, the company ended fiscal year 25 with 162,000 employees worldwide.
