Two men arrested after girl, 9, dies in Birmingham car crash | UK | News

A nine-year-old boy died after a two-vehicle collision in a major British city. West Midlands Police were called to Icknield Street in the Hockley area of ​​Birmingham at around 11pm on Thursday, April 2, following a two-car collision.

A 9-year-old girl, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of emergency response teams, he died a short time later.

West Midlands Police said in a statement on April 3: “Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time.”

A woman and two other children in the same vehicle were also taken to hospital to be evaluated for injuries, police added.

Their status is unknown.

Police also said two men, aged 22 and 23, who were in the second car, a BMW, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug-impaired driving.

Police closed Icknield Street for several hours while forensic officers examined the scene as part of the investigation.

A police dog handler and a drone team were also seen near Kuyumcu District.

The power is calling for people with knowledge to come forward.
