Artemis II’s journey so far as it leaves Earth’s orbit … in 85 seconds

The four astronauts on NASA’s Artemis II mission are the first humans to leave Earth orbit since 1972.
Commanders Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen are now on a looping path that will take them to the far side of the Moon and back again.
Their 10-day journey will take them up to 252,799 miles (406,840 km) from Earth. surpass the previous record It was determined by Apollo 13 – 248,655 miles – in 1970.
The crew will not land on the Moon on this current mission and will instead use it to prepare for a possible Moon landing by 2028.
