They say a week is a long time in politics but for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor the last 12 months must have felt like a lifetime. In April 2025, the then ‘Prince Andrew, Duke of York’ was smiling for the cameras as he left the Royal Family easter service of Windsor Spirits are high at St George’s Chapel.
But this year his presence with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, 66, and, in my opinion, a bit harshly, his two daughters, is unwelcome. Princesses Beatrice37 and Eugenie35. Since last Easter, Andrew and Fergie have seen their reputations publicly dismantled over their long-standing friendship with late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2008, but was sentenced to only 13 months in prison before being released in July 2009, followed by a year of supervised release until August 2010.
In an email sent to Andrew and his ex-wife Fergie on July 24, 2010, Epstein expressed his joy at finally completing his parole to travel abroad, telling them: “I’ll be in Paris starting tomorrow.”
Andrew replied: “Congratulations! Very good news indeed. If you’re in Paris around the 16th, I’ll be there to pay my respects to your new life ahead!” Andrew signed the email with ‘HRH The Duke of York KG’.
He was also provoked earlier this year by the publication of an old photo of himself kneeling on all fours over a woman lying on the ground.
In February, on his 66th birthday, Andrew was arrested at his cottage in Sandringham, Norfolk, on suspicion of misconduct in a public office for allegedly passing confidential information in the UK to Epstein while working as a trade ambassador.
Andrew, who MPs at Westminster recently branded a “rude, arrogant and entitled man”, vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
Fergie, meanwhile, was humiliated over her own emails to the American pervert, which the US Department of Justice released as part of the Epstein Files.
Various emails show her begging for financial help, asking Epstein for a job running his household, or telling the pedophile in a desperate message “Marry me!” after he was convicted of a sex crime in 2010. It shows you asking.
Fergie later thrust her daughters into the spotlight after telling Epstein in an email that Eugenie was away for a “love-filled weekend.”

Just a few days ago Andrew was photographed looking upset as he drove around Sandringham estate in Norfolk; Now he faces an even lonelier Easter.
The embarrassed former royal has been living at Wood Farm in Wolferton since the beginning of February as her permanent home, Marsh Farm, was renovated with new carpets, plumbing and a security fence.
Now on Easter Sunday Andrew will have to watch his family on TV as the Prince and Princess of Wales join the King and Queen in Windsor, applauded by Royal fans.
Zara and Mike Tindall are said to be there, as well as Princess Anne, Sir Tim Laurence, Edward and Sophie and their children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.
A new guard has replaced the old guard. The House of York has fallen.
A lifetime of bad choices and even worse friend choices means Andrew is left sitting at home while the new look of the Royal Family moves on without him.
Andrew has consistently and vehemently denied all wrongdoing.
