Murder investigation launched after man dies following ‘assault’ outside Bournemouth bar

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an alleged attack outside a bar in Bournemouth.
A Dorset Police spokesman said officers were called to reports of an assault outside MyBar on Charminster Road at around 3am on Monday and found a man from Christchurch in his 40s who died at the scene.
Two men, aged 37 and 46, from Bournemouth and a 34-year-old man from Poole were arrested.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are sadly with the family of the dead man and a detailed investigation is ongoing to establish what happened.
“A wide cordon has been established and I would like to thank the public for their understanding while vital work is carried out at the scene.
“We know there are a number of people who witnessed what was happening in the area at the time and we would ask them to please get in touch.
“I would also like to ask anyone who drives in the area and has a dashcam installed on their vehicle to check the relevant footage.
“The public will see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days and we would urge anyone with information or concerns to speak to a police officer.”
