I’m A Celeb viewers shocked by harsh conditions in South Africa as campmates are hit by huge storm during first night and insist ‘this is definitely worse than Australia’

I’m A Celebrity… South African viewers were shocked by the harsh conditions on the show as the camp was taken by storm on Tuesday’s episode.
The celebrities were split between the base camp and the Savannah Slum during the show, and their sleep was disrupted when heavy winds and rain battered the camp.
Coronation Street star Beverley Callard looked exhausted the next morning after struggling to sleep through the night.
Viewers used X to express their surprise at the conditions in which celebrities had to sleep.
They wrote: ‘This is definitely worse than Australia’… ‘This storm is not safe for celebs’… ‘Bev woke up to a storm, poor dear.’
‘And I thought the wind was bad here a few days ago’… ‘Watching them try to sleep outside makes me never want to go camping.’

The celebrities spent their first night in the forest during the show, but their sleep was disrupted when heavy wind and rain battered the camp.

Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt also noted the difficulty of sleeping at camp due to noises coming from the nearby forest.
He described the South African jungle as ‘less of an environment’ than the Australian version of the show, where creatures and other animals are heard throughout the night.
Meanwhile, after just two episodes, viewers have already decided which campmate is the villain of the series.
Fans seem to have already determined who the villain will be in this series, as pre-recorded footage shows the camp friends returning to the very familiar camp.
Viewers who watched the interaction between David Haye and other stars trying to light a fire flooded social media with comments.
Those who expressed their opinions about the professional boxer said, ‘Haye is VERY unlikable’; ‘Is it just me, or is David Haye looking REALLY bad so far?!?!?’;
‘I can see Haye causing the lines’; ‘I can tell Haye is very jealous of Mighty Mo. He definitely has to be the Alpha Male, right?’
David, 45, who first appeared on I’m a Celebrity in 2012, competed for the title of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Legend’ alongside names such as Gemma Collins, Scarlett, Sir Mo Farah and Adam Thomas.
It looks like she’s already made an enemy in soap star Beverley Callard, who angrily declares “yours” as she sends boxer David off to the dreaded Savannah Scrub camp.
The spin-off series is filming in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, and the returning campmates immediately step up.
In the launch episode, Emmerdale graduate Adam Thomas had an unfortunate start to the competition after failing to complete a puzzle in time.
Team captain Adam, 37, took on the first challenge, Tipped Over The Edge, with Beverley Callard, as the pair attempted to pick up puzzle pieces from the edge of the cliff while tied back to back.
Viewers who watched the interaction between David Haye and other stars attempt to start a fire elsewhere during the show flooded social media with comments.
However, this was not easy because as they approached the edge, the platform they were standing on tilted dramatically, throwing them off balance.
Although the tilting platform was child’s play for the duo, it was actually the puzzle that got Adam out of the jam.
Spending just eight minutes collecting the puzzle pieces and only falling off the platform once, the duo lost the challenge to Ashley Roberts and Mo Farah after Adam spent 10 minutes completing the puzzle.
Meanwhile, viewers also expressed their concerns for series star Beverley, who is currently battling breast cancer.
Some I’m a Celebrity viewers were unaware that South Africa was taped months ago and shared their confusion.
One viewer wrote: ‘When was this recorded? I thought Beverly was being treated for cancer and was sick?#ImACeleb.’
Another wrote: ‘Aww Beverly, it’s great to see what you’ve been up to even though she’s been tending to him lately.’
A third said: ‘I absolutely love Beverly, she is such a sweet lady, I hope she is doing well now and I hope her love is in better health and makes a full recovery.’
A fourth commented: ‘#ImACeleb what kind of collar am I doing here? Did you think you were on the brink of death?’
A fifth chimed in: ‘#imaceleb may be imaginary but Beverly was definitely tweeting about getting treatment a few weeks ago.’
