Assembly Elections 2026 LIVE updates: PM Modi appeals for greater turnout as Assam, Kerala, Puducherry vote

As many as 43 delegates from 23 countries, including representatives of five foreign missions, will visit Assam, Kerala and Puducherry to closely monitor the Assembly elections.

The Election Commission said the delegates were part of the International Election Visitors Programme-2026. On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, delegates were given a demonstration of the EVM at the Indian International Institute of Democracy and Electoral Management (IIIDEM), the training arm of the poll panel. They participated in the mock survey using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to gain hands-on experience with the voting process.

Delegates of the program will visit Assam, Kerala and Puducherry on April 8-9 in the first phase.
