Quiz clothes shops at risk of closing before end of April – full list of 40 stores | UK | News

It has been revealed that all 40 Quiz stores may close by the end of April after the chain goes into administration. If no rescue deal is reached, the brand’s administrator, Interpath, will conduct a full review of the viability of all stores by the end of the month. Retail WeekThis could lead to closures. It looks like Quiz will continue to run until at least the end of April.
The chain appointed Interpath in February following a difficult trading period that resulted in the loss of 109 jobs at Quiz’s head office in Glasgow and its distribution center in Bellshill, Lanarkshire. Prices confirmed by Interpath were reduced further over Easter, with more stock lines added and all products reduced by 40% to 70%.
In February, McAlinden said the retailer planned to continue as long as possible. He said: “There’s no doubt it’s a tough start to 2026 for the UK high street, with Quiz becoming the latest retailer to enter administration.
“We intend to continue to trade all stores and concessions in Ireland to the best of our ability while we evaluate business options.”
Interpath said the business had experienced “challenging trading conditions” in the 12 months leading up to the collapse and that both online and in-store sales were lower than expected during the critical Christmas trading period.
Quiz also needs to combat strong economic headwinds, including changing consumer habits, cost pressures from business rates and recent increases in employment costs, it said.
Executives attempted to explore options to secure Quiz’s future, including efforts to obtain financing, but were unable to find a viable solution, pushing Quiz to the brink of bankruptcy.
Following their appointment, all 40 stores and seven concessions continued to trade but the company’s online store closed. Quiz’s concessions at New Look and Matalan stores are unaffected.
