Trump issues chilling new ultimatum for Iran to make a peace deal as talks on brink of collapse

Donald Trump warned Iran that it must reach an agreement within a day or he will end the ceasefire and launch a new wave of attacks.
‘We’ll know in about 24 hours. “We’ll find out soon,” Trump told the New York Post after sending Vice President J.D. Vance to Pakistan to lead peace talks.
It was the President’s latest salvo in a series of ultimatums against the Islamic Republic that have defined his handling of the war.
‘Our reset process continues. “We’re loading the ships with the best ordnance ever made, even better weapons than we’ve ever built before, and we’ve blown them to pieces,” he said.
‘And if we don’t have a deal, we will use them, and we will use them very effectively.’
Upcoming peace talks are expected to focus on Trump’s demands that Iran hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz to global shipping.
At Truth Social later Friday, Trump said the Iranians “do not seem to realize that they have no other cards than to usurp the world in the short term using the International Waterways.” The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!’
Tehran, meanwhile, is pressing for the immediate lifting of US sanctions, continued control over the Strait and compensation for wartime damages.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf accused the United States of violating the ceasefire conditions and warned that the peace talks were not going well.
Kalibaf said that two important measures previously agreed upon between Israel and Lebanon, including a ceasefire and the release of frozen assets, have not yet been implemented.
Trump on Thursday pressured Israel to slow its attacks on Lebanon as the attacks threaten to hinder peace talks with Iran.
The president admitted that he told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “be a little more low-key” as Vance and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff led negotiations in Islamabad.
US and Israeli officials described Trump’s phone call with Netanyahu on Thursday as “tense,” according to CNN.
An Israeli source said he believed that if Netanyahu did not immediately call for direct negotiations with Lebanon, Trump would declare a ceasefire on his behalf.
Shortly after the meeting, Netanyahu announced that he would participate in peace talks with Lebanese officials.
US officials worry that Israel’s offensive against Lebanon could shatter the fragile three-day ceasefire before peace talks begin.

The president’s increasing negativity appears to be due in part to rising gas prices after the strait closure; national average climbs to $4.10 per gallon
American voters are “relieved” that the President has decided to stay the course rather than escalate the war, according to the latest Daily Mail/JL Partners poll.
The poll found that 33 percent of voters saw the agreement as a good outcome for the United States, while 18 percent saw it as a bad outcome.
28 percent of those surveyed said they felt neutral about the deal, while 20 percent were undecided; This underlined the mixed but measured public reaction.
