UK weather: Wind and showers return this weekend as temperatures tumble

A rotating area of low pressure approaching the UK from the west will move slowly and cause bursts of wet weather across the country.
The rain that fell early on Saturday will eventually clear from all areas, leaving a mix of sunny weather and ‘April showers’.
Some of the showers will be heavy, with a chance of hail and thunder, particularly in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England and Wales.
Snow will mix with some of the showers at very high altitudes above 600 m (2000 ft) in northern England and Scotland.
However, it will not always rain, there will be dry breaks between rains.
It will be windy, especially on the west coast where storms are possible, which will add to the coolness.
Maximum temperatures will range from 8 to 14C (46-57F).
