Bryson DeChambeau was one game away from playing in the Masters over the weekend.
DeChambeau, 32, was 3-over heading into the 18th hole and was under the cut line at 4-over but eventually holed out.
DeChambeau’s errant shot got stuck in the pines under a tree. He punched it under the tree, but he hit it too hard because the ball rolled into the dugout right next to the green.

At this point, DeChambeau needed ups and downs to hit par shots and set up a critical bunker shot to play into the weekend. DeChambeau tried to land his bunker shot right on the edge of the sand trap so it would roll into the green.
Instead he grounded the ball to the top of the dugout and the ball rolled down the dugout. Stunned by the hit, DeChambeau turned and looked at his assistant in disbelief.
Miraculously forced to make his second bunker shot to save par and his chance at the Masters, DeChambeau managed to get out of the bunker but was nowhere near the hole as his ball rolled over the green and into the fairway.

The California native chipped the ball from 24 yards out to 12 feet before two-putting for triple bogey.
A triple bogey put DeChambeau at par 6 and behind the cut line. This was the first time he missed the cut at Augusta since 2023.
DeChambeau wasn’t the only big name to miss the cut, last year’s US Open champion JJ Spaun also missed the cut by 5-overs.

Spaun’s missed cut was even more surprising because he won the Valero Texas Open last Sunday.
Rory McIlroy leads the Masters at 12-under, building a historic six-shot lead heading into the weekend to win his second straight title at Augusta.
