NYC Grand Central attack: The morning commute to Grand Central Terminal was suddenly disrupted by violence on subway platforms, injuring three people and prompting rapid police response, according to a report.

Authorities said that the incident occurred after 44-year-old Anthony Griffin entered the subway system at Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Boulevard in Queens and took the 7 train to Manhattan, according to the BBC. When he arrived at Grand Central-42 Street, he began attacking people with a large knife described as a machete.

Three Victims Injured in Platform Attack

The attack spread to many areas of the station. According to the BBC, an 84-year-old man suffered serious cuts to his head and face, while a 65-year-old man suffered serious injuries, including an open skull fracture. The 70-year-old woman suffered cuts on her shoulder.
