Tamil Nadu election 2026: TVK leader Sengottaiyan’s nomination accepted after being kept on hold

Nomination submitted by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam KA Sengottaiyan, candidate from Gobichettipalayam Assembly constituency (TVK) April 23 elections in Tamil NaduIt was first placed on hold during inspection on the morning of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, but was received by Returning Officer S. Sivanandham in the evening.

A total of 44 candidates were presented in the constituency and canvassing began on Tuesday. When Mr. Sengottaiyan’s papers were received, agents of AIADMK candidate VB Prabhu raised objections, pointing out alleged inconsistencies in the affidavit.
